2018 Festival is on 5-7 May
Message from the Chairman...
The 2017 event’s revenues and expenses have now been duly settled and against our original, cautious planning estimate of a “safe” profit of circa £4K we in fact raised £14K. The good weather, increased spend on publicity, additional attractions and enthusiastic support clearly all played their part. After a retention of, say, £3K to front-end fund the 2018 event, the available balance stands at £11K. We therefore need to decide how this sum is apportioned, both to the local village organisations and groups (probably in a similar ratio to 2016), but also the amount to be assigned to fund possible future village projects. On the latter point, we need to seek the views of the village community.
We are meeting next at 7.30pm on Tuesday, 3 October 17, in The Chapel Meeting Room. Any ideas for new activities or attractions would be appreciated, and it would be especially helpful if everyone could also give consideration to potential “future village project(s)”.
Please would you all do your utmost to attend on 3 October - if you are unable to do so, please let me know together with your views for the future. Also, do encourage any other willing friends and neighbours to come along - new ideas and commitments are always welcome!
The B&B 2017 programme was stuffed with things to do for all ages and interests.
