Bikes & Barrows Events 2017

April 29th - May 1st 2017. Come to Scorton village and enjoy this exciting festival all about village life, family events and Bikes & Barrows!! The Festival has plenty to suit all ages and lots to enjoy. Extra car parking is available in village.

All weekend                    

  • Local Art, Village History Displays + Music Recitals in St Peter’s Church

  • Tuition / Exhibition Play at Scorton Subscription Bowling Club

  • “The BnB Shuttle Bus”: Daisy Clough-Scorton-Wyresdale Park (every 20 mins)

  • “Ye Olde Delph Bowmen” Archery Group on the Church Field - Have a Go!

  • “Vanguard” 13th Century Medieval Re-Enactment Battle Group and Camp on the Church Field

  • Refreshments served in the Village Hall pop-up Cafe

Sat 29 April

  • 11-4pm - Spring Fair at Village Hall, lots of stalls, refreshments served, free entry. MGs on display outside the village hall too.

  • 12pm onwards - Scorton Rose Queen Day, parade starts 1pm, stalls and games on the playing field.

  • 7.30pm - “Music Maestro, Please” Concert of Local Talent at St Peter's Church. Tickets £5, children free

Sun 30 April

  • 9.15am - Scorton Fun Run, 1km, meet at Scorton School.

  • 10am-4pm - Classic and sports cars on display in the village square and Church Drive.

  • 10.30am - Sherriff 10k run, meet at Scorton School

  • 11-4pm - Scorton Pop Up Cafe at the Village Hall

  • 11-4pm - Gyrocopter static display on the playing field.

  • 12-1pm - Peel of Bells, come and ring the bells at St Peter's Church and taste the parish ale

  • 1-5pm - Music Festival on the Field, live bands, hog roast and beer tent

  • 5pm - Songs of Praise at Methodist Chapel, outside if weather good!

  • 7.30pm - “Where there’s Music there’s Brass” Brass Band concert, St Peter's Church. Tickets £5, children free

Mon 1 May

  • 10.00am - Classic Car Display - Aston Martins in The Square

  • 10.00am - Scorton Dog Show, Church Drive, all welcome

  • 10.30-4pm - Artisans Fair, Scorton Village Hall, free entry, also features Scorton Pop Up Cafe

  • 11.30-1pm - Morris Dancing in the Square with Leyland Morris Men.

  • 12-1pm - Peel of Bells, come and ring the bells at St Peter's Church and taste the parish ale

  • 1-4.30pm - Live Music and dance on the Field, live bands, hot food and beer tent

  • 4.00pm - Wheelbarrow Racing on the playing field, refreshments available.

  • 4.30pm - Egg throwing competition on the field, wear a pinny!
